When God, When?

God loves us so much He continually wants to bless us! Scripture tells us in He gives us what we need...when we need it. So why do we get frustrated from time to time? We are impatient! It is natural to get wrapped up in our own agendas. Schedules, play dates, work, vacations and weekends are readily planned out with the best of intentions! But, no matter how well meaning we are, our plans may not coincide with God's perfect will for our life. Habakkuk 2:3 says:

These things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!

Recipe for patience
1. stop and pray
2. ask God for His direction
3. open your heart to what He has to say to you
Most importantly we need to add a large measure of TRUST:
God knows what we need
God will provide
God is in control
God is on schedule

God promises to use our time of waiting to grow us and draw us closer to Him. What a wonderful thing to anticipate! So, be patient....What God has in store for you is more than what you could ever imagine!

  1. I pray for patience all the time - and guess what? God gives me plenty of times where I have to wait on Him!

Good challenge for us and some practical ways to practice His patience.

  2. There's that patience word again! And I still get nervous when you pray for patience for us as a group... because I know what comes next!! :)
It's such a hurts so good kind of thing, because while God is good He also knows what we need!
    Thanks for the encouragement.
    Good stuff Jan!

  3. When I think about patience, I think about Jesus' Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." If I want others to be patient with my shortcomings, I should be patient with theirs. Thanks for the the post, Jan!
